Not all bars on the shelf are actually soap. Many commercial “soap” products are technically detergents — made with synthetic foaming agents and fillers that can strip your skin’s natural oils.

Real soap is created through a natural chemical reaction called saponification, where oils (like olive, coconut, or tallow) combine with lye (sodium hydroxide) to form soap and glycerin. Once that reaction is complete, no lye remains — only a perfectly balanced bar that cleanses while leaving your skin soft and nourished.
